When visiting  main St Petersburg museum, The Hermitage,do not forget to drop to General Staff Building, just across The Palace Square. There they keep Impressionists collection and arrange provisional exhibits. Right now we have unusual Glasstress exhibit (Sept 11- October31 2021) Prepared by State Hermitage Museum jointly with Berengo Fund: it features the works of 50 modern artists executed in collaboration with Venetian glassblowers. For many it was their first glass-related experience, and even one of them approached this task in special way. Some were guided by properties of material, rather uncommon for them, producing uncharacteristic objects. Some proposed? giving them new interpretation by means of glass. Others drew inspiration from the history of the world’s arts and traditions of Venice to create works alluding to world – famous paintings, chandeliers and mirrors.
