The Central Naval Museum boasts a collection of more than 800,000 exhibits. Including an oaken dug-out, raised from the bed of the Southern Bug River, where it had lain for approximately 3,000 years, and the boat of Peter the Great, the forefather of the Russian Navy. Sections of the exhibition are devoted to the history of the Russian and Soviet fleet, the feats of the Soviet navy in the WWII, and the development of the navy in the post war period. Additionally, the Central Naval Museum runs two historical vessels as museums — the Cruiser Aurora (included in a city tour) and the submarine Narodovolets.
