A collection of jewelry from the House of Faberge is set to go on exhibit permanently at the newly renovated Shuvalovsky Palace on November 19th. The collection is owned by the Russian magnate Victor Vekselberg, who obtained the collection at an estimated $90 million dollars. Vekselberg famously kept the collection in Russia by making the purchase before it went to a Sotheby’s auction.
The feature of the collection are several rare Faberge eggs once owned by the Tsars, the Romanov family. There are many other pieces in the collection including rare artwork and the collection is managed by the Link of Time Foundation.
