History of XXVIII-XXI century porcelain on provisional exhibition in Peter and Paul Fortress
5000 exhibits made in Russia and Western Europe (England, Austria, Germany, Holland, Denmark and France) are on display in Peter and Paul fortress. The Exhibition shows the history of European and Russian porcelain in XXVIII-XXI centuries, all the techniques and technologies that were used and how they changed.
Russian porcelain and glass are represented by items made at Imperial porcelain factory and big private companies. Decorative vases, plates, glasses with St Petersburg views and porcelain figurines are among them.
The pieces of 1920-1930s (Soviet propaganda porcelain) are of great importance as well as the collection of objects of art that were given to Stalin and the ones that our city got for its 250th and 300th anniversary.
No matter what you like: Catherine the Great’s service or Art Nouveau style, you will enjoy the exhibition anyway.
