Tourists Can Use Free Wi-Fi in the St Petersburg Metro
The St Petersburg Metro is the most useful means of public transport in the city. With five lines and 67 metro stations it connects all the city districts. It is also famous for its depth – for example, the new Admiralteyskaya station is nearly 90 meters deep. For a long time it was almost impossible to imagine using a laptop or a cell phone to browse a Web page inside the metro. Today 38 metro stations provide free Wi-Fi. In order to get access to the Internet you need to choose the SPbFreeWiFi network.
Keep in mind that Wi-Fi operates only on the platform. The main idea is to help locals and city guests browse a map of the city or find any other necessary information.
The St Petersburg Metro is not the only place for free Wi-Fi in the city. A certain number of tramways and buses have Internet access as well. You can also surf the Web on the territory of such popular city sights as Summer Garden, Peter and Paul Fortress, and Alexander Park. According to the local government the area of free Wi-Fi will be extended in the nearest future.
